Arab Film Festival "Amal"
October 24^th - 30^th.

  Regulations

Artícle 1

Arab Film Festival Amal 05 is a competitive film festival.

Article 2

The Festival proposes to help the comprehension between people form different countries, giving positive contribution to the audiovisual culture an industry development, helping producers with the distribution, making narrow relationships between east and the west.

Article 3

Can be submited any film produced at any Arab country, either than any co-produced with any of those countries.

Films about Arab world or culture, produced at any other country will be able to enter the competition.

Article 4

Admited formats are:

Cinema 35mm, Betacam SP, Betacam Digital, DVD

Article 5

Arab Film Festival Amal 05 will take place in October between the 24^th and the 30^th.

Article 6

Competition selection will be made by the Festival's Selection Committee.

Among  all the Films  the Committee would select a maximun of 20 films to enter the competition.

Article 7

Every selected film has to be in original version with English, Spanish or French subtitles (the o.v. Is the one shown in the origin country)

Every film will be subtitled or dubbed for its exhibition at the Festival..

Article 8

The rights owner of each film will have to communicate to the Festival staff his intention to participate before September the 13^th,   sending the application form filled and signed. The Festival will recognize the signing as the speaker to negotiate everything related to the film participation and as the only responsible against other companies or people who could participate on the film.

 Article 9

Since one film is selected, it wont be able to be withdrawal from the program.

Article 10

It will have preference those films that had never been shown in Spain before its official presentation in the Festival.

Article 11

The shipping expenses of the film copies, as well as the insurance will be paid by the participant until its arrival to de Festival's direction or customs agent.

Festival's Organization will be in charge of the insurance from the moment that  the copy arrives to the Festival's base to the return moment.

Videotapes for previews will be sent postage and packing paid.

Article 12

In case of damage of the copies, any complaint have to reach the Festival less than a month its reception by the producer, as deadline.

The Festival's responsibility won't exceed the cost of the print run of one new copy according to the price list from laboratory for the standard copy print.

Article 13

Festival's management will appoint the Jury's members, that will posses the following conditions:

1. It will consist on 6 member minimum, of whom 1/3 must be celebrity from any Arab country.

2. People with any interest in production or exploitation of the films in competition will not be able to make part of this jury.

3. Jury's deliberation will be secret, and decisions will be taken by simple majority. Festival's management will attend to the deliberation but never vote.

4. Jury's members engage themselves not to expresses their opinion about the films under their consideration before the official proclamation of the prizes.

Any conflict didn't foresee in this regulations will be solved by the Festival's management according to this basis.

Article 14

International Jury will compulsory give the following Awards:

·        Best Feature Film       2.500€

·        Best Director             2.000€

·        Best Script                 1.000€

·        Best Actor                 1.000€

·        Best Actress             1.000€

·        Best Documentary Film 1.500€

·        Special Audience's Award 1.000€

Only one of these Awards can be ex –aequo.     

Article 15

Producers of awarded films make the compromise to mention it in any advertising and press kits, respecting the exact text of the Jury's rule and using the Festival's logo.

This logo will be available at the Festival's offices.

Article 16

Festival requests for its archive one copy of the film presented by producers which is given voluntary.

Article 17

In case of divergence about the interpretation of this regulations, the Spanish text will be applied.

Participation in this Festival supposes the acceptance of this regulations.

In case of conflict, festival's management preserve its sovereignty attending to the FIAPF regulations for international film festivals.
